March: Festival Micromusic #5

Will do residence, gig and lecture at Festival Micromusic #5. It’s happening at La Gare, where we did that cowboy-shit four years ago. This time me and Raquel Meyers will delve deeper into text mode. We’ll be joined by Driver&Driver, Evan Roth, Räuberhöhle, Karl Klomp, Gijs Gieskes, Tapetronic, Keyvane, Debeul Axel, Confipop, Jankenpopp, Zombectro and The bug (Le Pôle & Corinne Sérapion).

The plan is to

V/A: Explorations in Sound, Vol.4 – The Sound of Live Performance

12 Anders Carlsson – Go to 80 (Super Dub Edit)

Furthernoise editor and curator Roger Mills, has assembled a voluminous compilation of artists works based on the serendipitous outcomes of live performance. This includes raw audio of tuning up, happy accidents, sound check experiments, improvisations, studio out takes, or any other means in which new source material was generated by performative chance.”

My song is a live C64-performance with the song Ponky in the Defmon tracker, with added effects and some cut n’ pasting afterwards. (Due to a happy accident, the song was renamed to Go to 80 for this compilation.) More info about the compilation here.

Live C64-music has been my main area for the past two years, and I’ll hopefully release some of it later this year.

New releases at Datastorm

I released some stuff at the Göteborgian demo-party Datastorm. As Goto80 I made Linkan (C64-song – darkish electro(nica)dub-tronica), Dubskvaller4 (wonky reggae-funk Amiga-song), Acid Burger (C64-demo, PETSCII and acid glitch) and all episodes of Bit För Bit (video). I may or may not have contributed to “the worst C64-demo ever“, SNPFCT3, Sommarfunk, Command Center and something by Christer Ganjabladh. No hits this year – strictly anti-1337!

Also, Jucke performed a DJ-set with C64-music (w/ Seratos), which includes several songs by me. Recommended!

Storm Rave ST-01

I released a lo-fi + lo-fi (lo-fi) song at the Kindergarden dance music competition: STORM RAVE. It ended up as #4 in the compo. That seems fair.

It was made with mostly (only?) sounds from ST-01 and ST-02 (that means Amigaaaaa 1987), and encoded in 80kbps to hide the lamer sound of Renoise. Lol-yeah-ölollö!

Also performed live and was interviewed by one of the authors of MusicLine (best ‘chip’-tracker, except for LSDj and Defmon?). Find the recordings on “internet”.

V/A: 300 – Bring’em Low (20kbps MP3)

20 Goto80 – mcmcmc

The classical low-bitrate netlabel 20kbps (remember Copyslave?) makes its 300th release and celebrates with a compilation of 57 songs by Atarix, k9d, Gert 300, Josstintimberlake, Sascha Müller, Olympic Smoker and many more. Cover art by Bikecore. My song is a little piece of Defmon slacker-darkness.

HT Gold showing in Chicago

GLI.TC/h is an exhibition/conference for noise/glitch/etc, currently kicking arse in Chicago. HT Gold, a C64-game I “made” together with Glenn Again, is there along with some other enjoyable disturbances.
