Fax Performance Recording

Last year I made a fax performance, where we had a phone line open for incoming faxes, and another one for internal PETSCII faxing. There is now a Tumblr that shows one of these faxes every day.

As for the music, I turned pre-made songs into droney jams, and I drowned it in Ableton delays. It was filmed by TVMarineret, who did some pretty hardcore editing of the material. The first part is here and contains more accordion and clownery.

I made some PETSCII

The newest release at CHIPFLIP has some really good music by Omri Suleiman, and graphics made by me and Raquel Meyers. Let’s stop making boring MP3/JPG-releases and bring back the future of music disks!

Check it out now! (free download, stream, etc)

New Collaboration Song With Neurobit

The Dutch breakcore/drone artist Neurobit just released 5 Attempts to Synq the Elements. It includes a track we made together in Amsterdam in 2009.

It’s basically some sort of minimalist ambient, where I C64-improvise on top of Neurobit’s trickeries with the Nintendo DS. You can tell that it’s 101% de-synchronized! Download it for free from Lowtoy.

The song is taken from a session where we recorded something like 5 songs. Maybe they’ll get released some day!

V/A: Handheld Heroes Volume One (Bandcamp/DVD)

32. Goto80 – SMSnBass

Three years ago, I submitted a song to Saskrotch for a compilation at Handheld Heroes. Now it’s out! 41 songs by some of the most leet chip-acts on a DVD stuffed with source files, graphics, stickers, etc. Note the custom Gameboy ROM made by Nitro2k01. Get it naaauw!

My song is made for Sega Master System. It’s the first and probably last song for that system that I will ever do. Cover art made by Minusbaby.

Diamond Flash

Diamond Flash is a new Spanish movie from Psicosoda Films. It uses my Amiga chiptune Aaf, made in 1997. You wouldn’t have guessed that from the poster, would you? A daring choice of music, so big cinema applause for Diamond Flash! I wonder if there are any more movies with Amiga music…

Hello Sweden

In Sweden, we celebrate the national day med kuken. This is a PETSCII-remix of a painting that the Swedish police confiscated in 1967. Read more over at the unimitable text-mode.tumblr.com.

???-remix

I made this remix for ???’s excellent dub/skweee/hiphop release which you can consume here (or read about here). And btw, the next release for Chipflip is already in the works and it’s going to be a compilation with a magical touch of floppy.
