Hello! I do music, text, art and research, often relating to low-tech and handmade “digital” aesthetics. This is something I learned to appreciate as a kid in the demoscene subculture, where I’m still active. I started making chipmusic in the 1990s and I’ve since released records and performed live across 5 continents.
Current projects: music and sfx for Re/Phase, ASCII and music for Razor 1911
I’m really into text-based visuals (ASCII, PETSCII, etc) and I collaborate with coders, animators, VJs and video producers. I also do my own text graphics.
My art has been shown at events such as Transmediale and Ars Electronica. Robot music is a recent project that I do together with Jacob Remin.
Finally, I’m an independent researcher and I’ve published texts about the demoscene, chipmusic and text graphics since 2008. I run text-mode.org and I’m currently exploring the history of music software.
