03 Goto80 – Disco Dengu
Free compilation with space disco electro future, you know? My song is, uhm, tricky slacker disco? Space-beard funk? // Along with e.g. Linde, Tom Woxom, 8GB, Jellica, Steve, Failotron, Rico Zerone and Yerzmey, this is good stuff.
03 Special Stage (Handy Remax by Goto80)
I forgot to mention this when it was released October 15. It’s a compilation of chip-versions of the game series Rockman (aka Megaman). It’s an official Capcom CD, released by Inti Create. It features demosceners, videogame composers, Eastern and Western composers, purism and non-purism with the following artists: Chibi-Tech, Virt, Rushjet1, K->, naruto, Ippo Yamada, Saskrotch, Manami Matsumae, Akari Kaida, Hiroki Isogai, Manabu Namiki, Saitone, Zinger, Ryo Kawakami, Nobuyuki Shioda, KPLECRAFT, Dong, and USK. And my remix, made in Protracker on Amiga. Read about it at Gamasutra,
01 Goto80 – Hey! Hey! Hey!
Yipee, a refreshing compilation of not-so-digital-at-all music. Methodist Leisure releases a compilation of 51 mini-songs in mostly punk/lofi/rock flavour from e.g. Gay Beast, Japanther, Koji Kondo (!)C:, Best Fwends, Barf Bag, the Death Set, Mutators, the Sneezes. Free download
Wanna Hld Yr Handheld is a compilatoin of Beatles covers – the second release from 8 Bit Operators, after the Kraftwerk success a while back. This is volume 1 with 20 big-chip-names including Bacalao, Saskrotch, minusbaby, Anamanaguchi, Psilodump, and Bubblyfish. I covered Come Together, to which there’s also a video.
Oct29-EDIT: Now up for download at 8bitops.com
Kittenrock presents this compilation of Ibiza Chip Chillout music, where I sort of failed the mission but nevertheless delivered along with artists such as poke1,170 (aka c-men), gwem, jellica (aka label-boss), disco calculi (aka ed), the j arthur keenes band, tonylight, and many more! Get the whole thing at Kittenrock
Goto80 – Vilse i Babylon
67 musicians making 28-second songs. Includes 11hzrobot, Flegmatical, Mikrosopht, Paza, Nullsleep, Rico Zerone, and Invisible Public Library (what a name!). My song is a cover of a song by the 1980s powerpop group Nattkräm and the title translates to Lost in Babylon. Get it
01 Goto80 – Mendelssohn’s Turbo March
Together with the J. Arthur Keenes Band, Steve, MM and a bunch of others here is a bit of cheering up. I made this song for a friend’s wedding, although it was not in turbo mode then. But my friend didn’t come to the wedding ceremony, so then I made it turbo to initiate project scandal rave race body.
05 Goto80 – Dear Santa
Alongside little-scale, 8 Bit Weapon, Shaun Carley, Sandy Cheeks and others here is an 18-track compilation of messy christ songs for Pixelmod Records. My contribution is a fluffy and harsh megamix of christmas stuff: Gläns över sjö och strand, I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa, and When You Wish Upon a Star. And maybe even some more. Let’s continue the christmas spirit and Give links to Commercialism and Cheese (including myself).
Mariah Carey – All I Want For Christmas, covered for VORC’s Holy 8bit Night
Band Aid – Feed The World, highly reworked to fit the times for Christmasasaurus 2
Wham – Last Christmas, for 8bitpeoples’ 8bits of Christmas
…so, do YOU know it’s christmas?
15 Goto80 – Bluestam3prv
Along with 26 other chiptunisians I have a track on this compilation. Didn’t listen to it yet (the whole compilation, not my own song) (not), but there’s for example Phlogiston, Sabrepulse, Syphus, Disasterpeace, McFiredrill, and Alex Mauer so give it a try! Download all 190 megabytes somewhere. Hard copies were distributed at Blipfest which I guess the whole world knows about? Oh, and thanks to truechiptilldeath for letting me know! (about the compilation, not the festival)
